Aleena is also close with Neeraja, but she is unaware of the fact that Neeraja is her mother. Aparna and Aleena share a close bond unaware of the fact that they are sisters.
She works as a budding novelist and a teacher in a college where Aparna studies. Meanwhile, Aleena has grown up into a cunning, intelligent and valiant woman. Years later, Neeraja marries a kind man named Mahadevan (Mahadevan knows about Neeraja's past but still cares for her) and they have a child named Aparna. Neeraja leads a normal life with Sulekha. However, the child is found by a righteous lawyer Peter Thakaran who raises her. Sulekha gave the child to a drunkard who abandons the child. However, unknown to Neeraja, she had given birth to a child while in Coma. Fortunately, Neeraja has forgotten everything, that happened in her past, Sulekha decides to hide the truth for her good. While, Neeraja recovers from the coma after one year. Sulekha is crestfallen, she joins the politics and becomes the mayor. However, their world crumbles when three youngsters from Bhaskar's rivals, murder Bhaskar and molests Neeraja, leaving her comatose.
